Benchmarking energy use and costs in salt-and-dry fish processing and lobster processing
Description
abstract: This report summarizes an energy benchmarking analysis of the Canadian fish processing
sector. Based on a study of five salt-and-dry fish processing operations in Nova Scotia
and four lobster processing plants in Prince Edward Island, the study examines the
energy consumption and costs of the various production stages for each fish processing
group, from initial landing of the fish to storage of the final product. Includes graphs
showing inter-plant comparisons and provides data on emissions and energy savings.
